Merrell Women’s Siren Sport GTX XC Trekking and Hiking Shoes Review

So I decided to get myself another pair of all-around shoes – this should be something that can endure a range of activities from typical day walks to long running hours to occasional rough road activities. I just signed up to a triathlon and I can’t wait to find the perfect pair of footwear. It was a short search online when I spotted Merrell Siren Sport GTX XC Trekking and Hiking Shoes. It appears pretty fashionable and with the mentioned features and specifications, I knew it was the right pair to buy. I bet luck was on my side that time because when I arrived at the mall to buy my pair, their last stock was for my size! Talk about destiny with my hobby.

Features and specifications

Topped with coziness

I’d give Strobel construction the credits for the comfort and coziness of this pair. Merrell Siren Sport GTX XC Trekking and Hiking Shoes are equipped with synthetic leather with a mix of mesh material for the upper. Such materials create a great ventilation system for the shoes, which is highly beneficial whether you’re up for short walks or rough activities. The bellows tongue is responsible for keeping the debris out – and I was honestly amazed when I was able to prove that such feature works just as how it should. Practically speaking, not all bellows are effective in keeping your feet dust-free all day long.

Merrell Siren Sport GTX XC Trekking and Hiking Shoes inner lining is treated with Aegis solution. This is an antimicrobial treatment that relieves your feet from the potential of foul smell and sweat. It also comes with an Ortholite anatomical foot bed and the ever-famous GORE-TEX Extended comfort footwear lining.

On the outside

Of course, a good pair of shoes won’t be considered “good pair” if it doesn’t look pleasant in the first place. With Merrell Siren Sport GTX XC Trekking and Hiking Shoes, I should really command the brand’s dedication to create comfortable and fashionable pieces. His specific type of shoes comes in 7 different colors and its built looks really feminine. It is crafted with molded nylon arch shank and a 5mm sole lug depth for the best walking, running, hiking and trekking experience. The QForm Comfort midsole give that specific stride-sequenced cushioning. This is plainly specific for women’s needs.

Another worth-the-spotlight aspect would be the Vibram Siren Song Sole or TC5 + rubber that make these shoes last a lifetime. I’ve been using it for almost 3 years now and it still looks new, feels new and literally performs new. The Air cushion installed in the heel area results to stress-free feet. It helps distribute the pressure on your feet for the equilibrium of your life!

Where it can be improved

For my feet, it has no problem, but for my daughter’s who happen to have the same size as mine, she spotted minor concerns. We hope Merrell could redesign these shoes and make it a bit loose. My daughter’s feet are now as narrow as mine but there’s minimal difference. Still, she was able to feel tightness with this pair when she borrowed it for an overnight outdoor trip.

Final say

Priced at £70-£110, I highly recommend this product as worth the buy. Merrell Siren Sport GTX XC Trekking and Hiking Shoes have proven so much already – for me, at least – and I have nothing else to rant about it. It simply feels like mileage doesn’t exist with this pair, which is a great aspect!
