Long day of walking calls for a great pair of shoes. Whether that’s smooth concrete road or rough forest ground, you need to have the best pair of footwear that will ease the tiredness and stress on your feet. This is something I should have known prior to camping out with my kids at a nearby forest. Since I wore typical men’s sandals that time, I had to endure the discomfort and the water from the damp ground sipping through my feet. Not only that, one strap also snapped and I had to reconstruct the entire sandal by myself with the few tools I brought.
My son suggested that I purchase a Jungle Moc. He has been using these shoes for about 2 years now and according to him, his pair doesn’t seem to want to give up. Good thing our mall sells the shoes. After getting my very own Merrell Jungle Moc Slip On, my kids and I had another outdoor weekend trip and my son had his grin on when he saw we have the same shoes. Apparently, my daughter wants a pair as well!
Comfy quality at its finest
I cannot question Merrell when it comes to the comfort of these shoes. Honestly, I had a bad experience with the brand after I purchased one of their men’s sandals a few years back; but with Merrell Jungle Moc Slip On, I think I will reconsider my first impression. The pair is made with man-made suede for its outer material and a comfortable fabric for the inside. The sole is purely rubber hence, you got there a coat of assurance that the shoes will be able to keep up with the toughness of outdoor adventure. It’s also a combination of rubber and pig suede leather in general.
With these basic features on the material alone, I can say that my own pair will last as long as my son’s pair lasted. In fact, I was further amazed when after purchasing, I realized that the shoes were also equipped with more features such as Aegis solution and Orthodite anatomical foot bed.
Science for the feet
The Aegis antimicrobial solution is used to treat the interior of the shoes, the lining specifically. This is approved by the American Podiatric Medical Association and it is responsible for keeping your feet free from the annoying smell. It’s also of great help in lessening other feet problems due to excessive sweat. Merrell Jungle Moc Slip On also acquires Orthodite anatomical foot bed that adds a high level of comfort when wearing the shoes. This is, regardless of your foot type.
Merrell had this type of shoes equipped with their specially design air cushion in the heel area and a molded nylon arch shank which eliminates the stress on the feet when walking especially on long distances. Finally, the every pair of Jungle Moc is created with Strobel constructions that provide a high level of quality and durability. No wonder my son’s pair lasted more than 2 years.
Where it can be improved
Honestly speaking, I cannot find anything to be improved with these shoes. They feel perfect for me. I guess it’s wise to simply warn you guys about the sizing of Merrell. If you’re purchasing online, it’s wise to double check the size as Merrell has their own measurements. I was size9 but the size 9 on Merrell that I fitted was too small. Lucky me, I was purchasing at the mall.
For people who are quite meticulous like me, it’s a big challenge to find a pair of shoes that are comfortable, affordable and will last you many years. In the case of Merrell Jungle Moc Slip On, I was able to achieve what I was looking for. To think it costs about £55-£90 depending on color and size, it’s something definitely worth the investment.
