Below is a collection of the best travel blogs in the world. I hope that among them you will find the inspiration or information you need. It was rather painstaking to put together so if you find it useful I would really appreciate a tweet or stumble. Things to note:

- Over 150 travel blogs were looked at in the creation of this list.
- I used many criteria including; Alexa and Technorati ranking, RSS membership and incoming links.
- Where the blog was not the primary focus of the website it has been omitted.
- Only websites that are still currently being updated have been included.
- I can appreciate that some great websites may have been missed, so my apologies for that. The internet is a big place! Feel free to comment with any suggestions.

  1. Wow! This is a pretty impressive list and we’re sooo flattered to be mentioned among all those fantastic travellers! Yooohooo! You definitely made our day :-) *dancing around*

We can only agree, since we really love all of those on the list – and many more of course.

We’re so happy over the fact that over the past years, there has popped up more and more great travel bloggers. It’s much more of a travel community now. A really nice such.

Of course we’ll both Tweet & Stumble it and spread it in other places too :-)

    Happy travels!

  2. Great list of blogs

EuropeCheapo, Europe a la Carte and Vagablogging are personal favourites.

Richard Hammond’s Green Traveller is an excellent blogsite for people looking for inspiration on Green Travel ideas…

I hope my site one day makes it onto your list oneday!

  3. Muzi Mohale says:

Wow, it’s the first time ever that we’ve made an list…appreciate the inclusion.

  4. Great list…but don’t forget families! We have been on a non-stop open ended world tour as a family since 2006! We’ve been to 4 continents. 32 countries and traveled over 170,000 miles (most overland) so far using every mode from cargo ships to camels.National Geographic called us “one of the best family travel websites in travel”!

We won two 2009 Lonely Planet Travel Blog awards (chosen by votes & judges), featured in new edition of 4 Hour Work Week, have Google pagerank of 5 as well as top Alexa & Technorati stats, plus over 3 million people have watched our many viral soultravelers3 travel videos!

We want people to know that world travel is not just for singles or couples anymore!! Check out Frugal Travelers interview with us on today’s New York Times Travel!

  10. Spot says:

I hope it isn’t too blatantly self-promoting to suggest the WOW-factor posts of Spot Cool Stuff: Travel

  11. Nora says:

Cheers! I’m stoked to be included on this list with such great travel bloggers. Thank you!

  12. Thanks so much for including the Perceptive Travel Blog in your list!

I’m one of the four co-authors (none of us have ever met and we’re scattered from New York to Texas to New Zealand) and we love to write the stories that you won’t find on more generic travel blogs. It is very nice to be recognized.

The rest of the PT Blog crew:

    Tim Leffel, Editor
    Antonia Malchik, co-author
    Liz Lewis, co-author
    Alison Stein Wellner, co-author

  13. Mark H says:

Thank you for including Travel Wonders of the World on such an august list of bloggers.

Awesome list, really useful stuff. I have bookmarked it and sent it to my stumbleupon. I haven’t heard of most of these before so thank you for sharing

  16. Great list. Thanks for including What a Trip!

  17. Excellent list of travel blogs! Many of my fave blogs I read regularly made your list.

  18. What a great list. I’m going to retweet it in a moment. But just wondering: if you ever intend on updating it, would you consider adding my blog: http://www.jthetravelauthority.com? I’m noted for posting about what I call hidden treasures, venues off the radar, all over the world.

    thanks,
    Jeanine

  19. Great list, but Hey, where is WorldOnaBike.com !

Ok, it is a bit behind, but it is still being updated regularly, just not with very recent stories :)
Blogging & cycling from Alaska – Ushuaia, more than 1500 photos & 200+ posts so far… Now in Costa Rica, off to write more to catch up…

  20. Anil says:

Wonderful list of some old faces and new ones for me too. It’s really an honor to be on a list with any of these writers.

  21. Craig says:

Good line up of regulars with a few new faces thrown in. I’d enjoy to see a top-50 unknown blogger list at some point. The journalers and just-starting-my-trip people that can be so tough to find as they aren’t in the travel blogging communities (yet!).

  22. YOWZA! What an extensive list…..I think I’ll be busy for quite some time perusing all of these sights :D

    Thanks for sharing!

    ~WW

  23. MySardinia says:
