A retro Rock & Roll event held this year in Coolangatta. A huge 10 day festival involving competitions, car shows, parades, dancing, movies and hundreds of bands. Spread over a wide array of venues from the street to local clubs. Many of the events are free.
3rd – 4th July 2010
Exactly what it says on the tin. Not just a marathon, there is a half marathon, 10km run, 5km challenge and a junior dash. Check the site for more details and how you can enter.
26th August – 5th September 2010
A food and wine festival showcasing the best the Gold Coast has to offer. Details are hard to come by at the moment but check the website nearer the time for more information.
27th – 29th August 2010
The annual Gold Coast Show celebrates its 104th year. This event showcases the Gold Coast with regards to the people, lifestyle, art, education, sports, hobbies, interests and innovation.
10th- 19th September 2010
The eighth annual Swell Sculpture Festival is held at Currumbin Beach and will feature 55 sculptures by artists from all over Australia. This is a free exhibition and open at all hours over the 10 days.

A gruelling and intense endurance race. This is one of the toughest Ironman events on the surf sports calendar.

The Gold Coast Super GP turns Surfers Paradise into a race track. This is part of the A1 Grand Prix World Cup of Motorsport and the Australian V8 Supercar Series.
10th October 2010
Young performers compete for prizes in various disciplines such as dance, singing and drama. Started in 1982, this event now attracts 60,000 competitors.
6th – 14th November 2010
Over 10,000 athletes of various ages flock to the Gold Coast in the hopes of taking home a medal competing in 34 different sports. Interesting to note that the average age of entrants is 30.
