Posted by Gap Year Escape On March - 9 - 2010

From the sleepy town of 1770 on the East Coast of Australia is a thrilling adventure to be had. 1770 is slow and I was feeling rather upbeat and wanted to do something a bit crazy. The tour driver was going through a list of things to do when the words “zero gravity” made my ears prick up.

Neighbours Tour & Neighbours Trivia Night Review: Bunyip Tours

Posted by Gap Year Escape On March - 5 - 2010

Cheddar, Mozzarella, Edam and the Neighbours Tour. Yes all types of cheese! It’s loveable, fun and let’s be honest; it’s Neighbours!

Although the Neighbours Night and Neighbours Tour are two separate events, I would suggest you do both for the full Neighbours experience.

Let’s start from the top shall we…

Fraser Island

Posted by Gap Year Escape On March - 3 - 2010

In the last six months I have seen and done many things. Fraser Island ranks incredibly high on my list of favourites. It doesn’t matter that I ate my own body weight in sand or lost my flip flops (why did you have to leave me?), Fraser Island is incredible!

My Moment of Shame

I’m on the edge. My heart beats harshly against my chest as adrenaline surges through my body. Not even my pride can stop me from admitting that I am petrified. Fear grips me and I am immobilised. Unable to do anything. What the hell am I doing?

Australia’s answer to Amsterdam

Posted by Gap Year Escape On January - 17 - 2010

After a huge hippy festival in 1973, Nimbin earned itself a place on Australia’s map. With a population of 352 and an unemployment rate of 18 percent this sleepy former dairy town relies heavily on tourism.

Want a cool place to live? Byron Bay has the answer.

Posted by Gap Year Escape On January - 13 - 2010

Byron Bay is just pretty damn awesome! It has to be one of the best places on the East Cost. I think the highlights have to the beach and strangely the artistic use of graffiti to cover up ugly (what I assume to be) power boxes.

Do you want to learn how to surf?

Posted by Gap Year Escape On January - 9 - 2010

Right on dude!

Having been surfing before I should be pretty good at it by now, right? Wrong.
Spot X is the name, surfing is the game. Mojo Surf (also based in Byron Bay and Sydney) run an awesome surf camp out of Arrawarra beach.

Posted by Gap Year Escape On January - 1 - 2010

Happy New Year!

I can’t say I have ever had an amazing New Years Eve. I mean there have been some that have been fun but nothing that has lived up to the hype. This year was certainly different.

Christmas on Bondi Beach

Posted by Gap Year Escape On December - 29 - 2009

It’s the Christmas we all dream of; leisurely sitting on Bondi beach with a Santa hat and a BBQ. I did chuckle to myself knowing that back home the weather would be drab and cold. I couldn’t wait for Christmas Day!
