Benefits of a gap year before further education

When it comes to choosing which University you want to go to and the course that you want to study it can always be hard. You can check out all of the websites like GmercyU.edu, and choose one depending on their offerings, or you can take a campus tour and get a real feel, but the choice will always be difficult. There are always the worries that you may have chosen the wrong one and that you will regret it later on. For some people they just do not want to go straight from school or college and onto continuous further education and study until they get a job. After working so hard for their A Levels some people just wish to lead a carefree life and have a great time before having the worries of work and money. If you are one of these people then you should definitely consider taking a gap year.

There are many benefits to taking a gap year, whether you are going to work for that year or go travelling. If you are going to work for your year off from education then you have the chance to save a lot of money to then take to University with you when you decide to go. You will not have to worry about becoming a standard poor student as you have worked hard and can support yourself financially. You will be able to understand what having a job is like and therefore be prepared for the future difficulties that arise in the working environment. Even if all of your friends go to University you can still travel to see them on your days off.

If you are considering to go travelling on your gap year then as long as you can afford it, you will have the best time of your life. It is a known fact that people who go travelling, whether that be before, during or after University have an amazing time and go through a once in a lifetime experience. You will get to see for yourself so many amazing locations around the world; you can even get yourself involved in some volunteering when you are there. Parties on the beach with a fire, nothing could get better.

Some parents can be a bit reluctant for their child taking a gap year and going travelling due to the fact that they believe it will result in them being in a worse debt than if they were to go to University that year. Also some people believe that when someone is taken out of education they will then not want to go back into it again. If a gap year turns you away from further education then clearly University is not meant for you.

A gap year is an experience which people will never forget. It does not even have to be as expensive as some people believe. If you decide to book online for your travels you can find great offers and deals for so many different things such as travel, accommodation and things to do when you are there. If you are then worried about what you would take with you and if that would cost you a lot then do not worry. For many of the items you will need you don’t pay full price at Essentials 4 Travel, a website which will supply you with all of you needs. If you get the chance to take a gap year and you feel you can do it, then do. It is an opportunity no one should miss out on.

i totally agree – I learnt heaps more on my travels than I did at uni – and it makes you into a much more confident and self sufficient person 🙂
