Top 5 Round The World Ticket Providers

Posted by Gap Year Escape On August - 26 - 2009

So you’ve made a few trips into STA and finally decided on your route. The nice lady was very informative and now all that is left to do is pay right? Wrong!

I hear time and time again how people, out of some sort of loyalty, will buy their RTW ticket from the first travel agent that they use because they helped them form their route.

Wake up, it’s a consumer market out there. RTW tickets aren’t cheap and you will want to get more bang for your buck.

Before you go ahead and part with your cash, make sure you have the best deal. You might be able to get your travel agent to price match, beat your other offer or give you some discount off travel insurance.

Here is a list of my top 5 Round The World Ticket Providers. This is based on my own personal experience of service and arguably more important, price.

  1. Trailfinders
  2. Travel Nation
  3. STA Travel
  4. Global Village
  5. Round the World Experts

I saved over a £100 by shopping around. How much will you save?

Pill head?

Posted by Gap Year Escape On August - 24 - 2009

One of the most important things about travelling is your health, without it there is no trip!

Many backpackers don’t know where the next meal is coming from and with the constant moving around your diet will be ever changing. Are you really getting everything you need?

It’s a rather simple solution, become a pill head (the good kind). Take a multivitamin supplement and cod liver capsules daily. This insures you get the good stuff you need and the cod liver will keep your joints healthy when you are doing those long treks and adventure sports that you wouldn’t normally do.

Simple really.

*Warning* Do not bite into a cod liver oil capsule. I know it tastes bad but this didn’t stop me doing it anyway. Learn from my mistake.

happy pill

Welcome to Gap Year Escape

Posted by Gap Year Escape On August - 21 - 2009

Hello… yes, come on in… pull up a chair…

Welcome to my travel blog!

As I am sure none of you are aware (I hardly talk about it to anyone) I am travelling round the world for a year…

Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia, Malaysia, Indonesia, Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, USA, Canada and I’m done….

After countless years of “studying” I feel I need a break (those lectures really took it out of me).

I leave on the 7th September 2009 and will attempt to keep this as up-to-date as possible. This is not only to make you people jealous but also so that I don’t have to repeat myself.

So if you feel somewhat compelled to read my blog, feel free to subscribe and hear all about my hedonistic pursuits.

Much Love,

Amar
